Vinegar Products

At Ellsey's we stock the most comprehensive range of vinegars anywhere in the UK.

We can supply vinegar in a variety of strengths and in containers from 5 to 1000 litres.

Balsamic Vinegar:

With a sweet and mellow flavour and a dark purple/brown colour, balsamic vinegar is full of subtle, complex flavours.

It is used as an ingredient in salad dressings, sauces and marinades. It also makes an excellent dipping sauce combined with a good quality olive oil, and on its own as a topping sprinkled on fresh strawberries.

White Vinegar:

Made from fermented wheat and sugar cane, white vinegar is a clear liquid with a sharp aroma, and is the most commonly used vinegar for making mayonnaise, sauces and marinades. A very versatile vinegar.

Malt Vinegar:

This is a strong, hearty vinegar made from malted barley and popularly used in the UK sprinkled on the traditional fish and chips! It is used in ketchup and brown sauces, and can be used in strong sauces, and to add flavour to soups and stews.

Red Wine Vinegar: (Organic available)

Red Wine vinegar has been used for centuries for both medicinal and culinary purposes. Generally a deep red in colour, this versatile vinegar is popular worldwide, as a marinade for red meat, vinaigrette for salads, and as a pickling agent for fruits and vegetables.

Rice Vinegar:

With a mild sweet flavour, rice vinegar is used in oriental cuisine, as a condiment for soups, stews and noodle dishes. Its mild flavour makes it excellent for flavouring with herbs, spices and fruit.

Sherry Vinegar:

Made in Jerez in Andalusia, sherry vinegar is smooth and mellow, producing a balanced sweet and sour taste. It is widely used in Spanish cooking, particularly with sweet poultry dishes, salads and dipping sauces.

White Wine Vinegar: (Organic available)

Generally a pale golden colour, white wine vinegar has a light, delicate flavour and goes well with salads, seafood and poultry dishes. Its delicate flavour makes it an excellent choice for making infused vinegars with various herbs, spices or fruits.
